This Privacy Policy explains how Sheet Upload ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Google Sheets add-on. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Information We Collect

When you use Sheet Upload, we may collect the following types of information:

  • Google Account Information: Your email address, used to manage your account and track usage limits.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you use the add-on, including the number of uploads, to manage billing and plan limits.
  • File Metadata: Basic file information such as file name, Google Drive file ID, and shareable URL — used solely to insert links into your spreadsheet. We do not access or store the contents of your files.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the core functionality of the Sheet Upload add-on
  • To manage your account and subscription plan
  • To track usage against your plan's upload limits
  • To respond to support requests
  • To improve the add-on's features and performance

Google API Scopes & Data Access

Sheet Upload requests the following Google API permissions:

  • Google Sheets (spreadsheets): To read your active cell selection and insert hyperlinks into the cells you specify. We do not read, modify, or store your spreadsheet data.
  • Google Drive (drive.file): To upload files you explicitly select and to set sharing permissions on those files at your direction. We only access files you choose to upload through the add-on.
  • Google user profile (userinfo.email): To identify your account for usage tracking and subscription management.

Sheet Upload's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Storage & Security

We store only the minimum data necessary to provide our service:

  • Your email address (for account identification)
  • Upload count (for plan limit enforcement)
  • Subscription status (for billing purposes)

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your actual files are stored in your own Google Drive account — we never copy or store file contents on our servers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

  • When required by law or legal process
  • With payment processors to handle subscription billing (through Google Workspace Marketplace)

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you uninstall the add-on and request data deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. File metadata stored during your use of the add-on may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion for backup purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Revoke Google API permissions at any time via your Google Account settings

Children's Privacy

Sheet Upload is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the add-on after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
